NEW BUSINESS:
1. Covid -19 Update: E. Klepeis reported from the Town Board. Last month the difficult decision was made to cancel the summer camp and pool programs for 2020. Our region of the state is scheduled to re-open in Phase 3 next week with Phase 4, which includes recreation, tentatively slated for July 7. Guidelines for pools include 6 feet of separation in and out of the water, with pool occupancy limits modified to reflect this distancing. This does not seem enforceable for out pool, and in addition preparation and staff training has been severely curtailed by the shutdown; therefore there are no plans to modify last month’s decision. Further state guidelines for recreation are forthcoming.
2. Rec Center infrastructure issues: D. Whitaker reported that a proposed contract for repair of fencing for the tennis court, ball field and playground will be submitted to the Town Board at their July meeting. Basketball and tennis court surface repairs are faulty and Supervisor Walsh is consulting the town attorney. The pool construction company advised repairs last fall but have not responded to numerous calls and e-mails. A local contractor visited the pool recently and will present two estimates; conversation with him indicates that damage is more superficial than previously suggested. The Rec Center building generator is functioning but needs some repairs, estimates pending.
3. Summer Film Series: K. Carr reports that the Rosendale Library is very interested in taking the lead on this. However, plans were tabled in March due to Covid-19 shutdown. F. Atlast suggested that we try to get at least one show in during September, when weather is still good but darkness falls sooner. K. Carr will approach the library after they re-open.
4. Rosendale RUNS: L. Jerkowski reported that many summer races have been cancelled, and the decision on Rosendale RUNS will be made by Shawangunk Runners next month.
F. Atlast moved to adjourn at 8:00, seconded by R. Sorge, All in favor. The next meeting will be Wednesday, July 15.
Respectfully submitted,
Kristina Carr, Chair
