II. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

 

Minutes of May 18, 2010 meeting reviewed.

Motion was made by David Soman, seconded by Ron Parenti to accept the minutes as written.

IV. Old Business:

Victoria Gardens –#Z2010-1- Use Variance

Written comments were received from the County. No County impact

County recommended changing the application to an Area Variance. Leslie will take care of the paperwork.

After reviewing the Ulster County Planning Boards recommendations a motion was made by Ron Parenti, seconded by Robert Hendrickson to grant Victoria Gardens an Area Variance to place three signs as specified in the application at her place of business.

Minutes of Apr 22, 2010 meeting reviewed. Correction of minutes to include Chris Pryslopski – Present at last meeting.

Motion was made by David Soman, seconded by Brain Farmer to accept the minutes as amended.

No comments were taken from the Public

Board Members and Applicant discussed the proposed signs

Sign #1 – 4x5 Double sided –Located on Cottekill Rd

Sign #2 – 6x5 – Single sided –Located on Route 213

Sign # 3 – 2.5 x 22 – Building

 

Total Square Footage equals – 105 sq ft.

 

Fred Greitzer stated that this application should be reviewed by the County. Leslie will call County Planning to verify. If so a packet will be submitted to the County for review.

 

Applicant will need to inform State DOT and County DOT on the proposed sign placement on Route 213 and Cottekill Road.

 

Motion was made by Ron Parenti, seconded by Christopher Pryslopski for tentative approval of the Use Variance pending State and Local DOT approval or recommendations.

Victoria Coyne & Wayne Waddell owners of Victoria Gardens would like to install permanent signs located on Cottekill Hill Rd , 213 and front corner of property

 

Fred Greitzer stated he believes this application will need an amended Site plan and that will have to go before the Planning Board and also application will need to be reviewed by the UCPB.

Leslie will locate the original Site plan file and provide copies to the members for review.

Motion was made by David Soman, seconded by Christopher Pryslopski to schedule a Public Hearing for the May 18 meeting.

ZRC asked the ZBA to review / comment on current Town code relating to Signage. Any inputs can be submitted directly to the ZRC or given to Ron Parenti.

Ron is willing to do research dealing with signage.

This item will be added to next months Agenda for review /discussion

 

 

VI. Misc. Board Business:

 

Denise Pitcher’s term has ended (Dec 2009) Denise has decided not to continue on with her appointment. This leaves a vacant seat on the board.

Zoning Board has recommended Christopher Pryslopski to fill this position .A letter will be given to the Town board with this recommendation.
